Open Phone

I want my next phone to be 'hackable'. Too often, devices like phones are great products, but have just those couple of annoyances that dimnish the usability greatly. I want to be able to hack that - a small change can often make a big difference.

• openmoko.org - promising philosophy, but much work to be done
• QTopia - looking good, but is there open (non-tivoized) hardware yet?
• Google Android - looking good, but is there open (non-tivoized) hardware yet?
• motorola? - looks like you can telnet into it
