Seems like a nice tool for entering music, supports entering via midi.

The core developers, however, have moved to Canorus

Note that the version in Ubuntu is borked, you want to compile it yourself.

Observations:

  • Unix-style copy-paste (select/middlemouse)
  • No 'repeat previous bar'/'repeat previous bars' symbol
  • Bar numbering starts at '2', while i'd like it to start at -2 (2 measures 'opmaat'). Autobar numbering for a staff starting with rests goes wrong.
  • up/down keys when notes are selected could transpose.
  • Changing clefs doesn't change the key signature (??)
