http://libmusicxml.sourceforge.net/ - a C++ library, based on expat (hence no DTD validation) might be usable for importing/exporting into rosegarden.

Error reporting seems crappy ('parse error line 2').

There seems to be no build documentation (or at least not in the obvious places).

The makefile in /src/ seems to be for creating releases, for actually compiling the lib run 'make' in /src/linux
